A peaceful cottage on the waters edge, Kingfishers is a perfect retreat!
Nestled in the valley of Little Petherick, just five minutes from Padstow, Kingfishers is superbly positioned on the edge of the tidal creek. Lovely views and an abundance of wildlife can be enjoyed from the terrace and balcony overlooking the water.
The cottage is a lovely place to rest after a day of exploring. There is a cosy open plan living area with access to the decking, a tranquil spot for al fresco dining. With a twin room and shower room downstairs, and up the spiral staircase there is a romantic master bedroom with a Juliette balcony overlooking the water and an en-suite bathroom.
With parking directly outside the cottage, or if you like a walk you can take a waterside stroll into Padstow along the Saints Way!
OPEN PLAN LIVING / DINING / KITCHEN
A cosy living area with doors out onto the terrace. The sitting area includes two sofas, television, DVD player, digibox and an electric fire. The kitchen comprises an electric oven and hob, fridge, washing machine/dryer and a microwave. There is a circular dining table with four chairs. A high chair is also provided.
There is an open tread spiral stair case from the sitting room leading to the first floor. Please note this may not be suitable for small children or the elderly.
A twin room with two 2’6” beds and a single wardrobe with drawers.
Thermostatic shower, wash hand basin, toilet.
A spacious double room with a kingsize bed (5’), chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside units. French doors to a small balcony overlooking the creek.
Bath, fitted wash basin and WC.
From the sitting room, there is a large decked terrace overlooking the creek with wooden table and chairs. BBQ provided.
Allocated parking for one vehicle in front of the cottage.
Dogs are permitted by request.
BEDDING AND LINEN
Bed linen is provided. Towels are not provided. There is a travel cot at the cottage but please bring your linen for this as it is not provided.
Wifi is available at the property.
Offering a quiet position ideal for a retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet just a 5 minute drive into Padstow. You can walk into Padstow along the Saints Way, the footpath follows alongside the creek offering a beautiful scenic walk into town. The Old Mill House has a Bistro which is open 5 days a week which is just along the road from the cottage, a lovely place to stop for dinner. Within a few minutes you also have The Pickwick Inn, The Journeyman and The Ring O’ Bells.
Five minutes away is Padstow, a striking harbour town offering everything you need all in one place… Stunning coastal walks, gourmet restaurants, galleries and shops, beaches along the estuary, sea life safaris and speed boat trips, and of course as many pasties, ice creams and fish and chip shops as a town can fit!
Beaches within a short drive:
Trevone Bay – 3 miles
Trevone is lucky enough to have not one but two beaches! A sandy beach, great for surfing and families, with a sheltered aspect tucked between the cliffs. And just around the cliff edge there is a rocky beach, perfect for exploring, you’ll not only find some great rock pools but a large natural pool perfect for a splash! Dogs are permitted out of season. Parking, beach cafe and toilets located at the top of the beach.
Harlyn Bay – 4 miles
A huge expanse of sand, Harlyn is a great day out with the family offering a brilliant surfing and watersports school. Dog friendly all year round. The Harlyn Inn is just over the road, seasonal burger van and car parking at the top of the beach and toilets just down the road.
Treyarnon Bay – 5 miles
Watch the most amazing sunset from Treyarnon Bay, a beautiful sandy beach offering great surfing and an array of rock pools and caves to explore. With a youth hostel at the top of the cliff to sit and have a bite to eat and a drink or a seasonal van for takeaway food and drinks. Car park and toilets, dog friendly all year round. Take a walk around the headland to Constantine Bay and soak up the scenery.
Constantine Bay – 4 miles
An excellent surfing beach, the bay has rock pools to the left and sand dunes to the right and gentle headland walks in either direction.
At low tide it connects with it’s sister beach, Booby’s Bay, giving a stretch of more than half a mile of golden sand. Toilets and a pop up coffee van available, a small amount of parking available by the beach and a larger car park within 100 yards. Dog friendly all year round.
Porthcothan Bay – 5 miles
Nicely positioned between Padstow and Newquay, Porthcothan Bay is a sheltered sandy beach which is not far from Bedruthan Steps, offering the most spectacular coastal walks. Parking and toilets are situated on the other side of the road. Dog friendly all year.
Mawgan Porth – 7 miles
A stunning surfing beach, perfect for families with plenty of rockpools, caves and a stream running down one side of the beach. Mawgan Porth has plenty of amenities opposite the beach, a pub, shops, parking, toilets and places to eat. Dog friendly all year round.

The Seafood Restaurant, St Petroc’s Bistro & Rick Stein’s Cafe – 2 miles
Situated in Padstow, Rick Stein has an array of famous places to eat – The Seafood Restaurant, St Petroc’s Bistro, The Cafe. At the end of the harbour he also has his fish and chips restaurant and take away, a deli and his amazing cookery school.
Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 – 2 miles
Michelin starred Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 is also located in the heart of Padstow, a real fine dining experience. Paul has a superb Italian restaurant in Padstow – Rojano’s in the Square.
Restaurant Nathan Outlaw & Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen – 13 miles
Located in Port Isaac you have the two Michelin star Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, a very memorable dining experience, as well as Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen. Nathan also has The Mariners which is in Rock, all three are a must whilst you are in Cornwall!

Over in Watergate Bay is Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, where you can have not only a beautiful meal but enjoy the most stunning views over the beach.
