Waterhouse is ideally located for your family holiday in North Cornwall. As well as being a gentle stroll into the popular village of St Merryn, it is also within easy striking distance of the areas famed beaches and a whole host of celebrated eateries. A light and stylish house with plenty of room for all the family, Waterhouse offers a welcoming space to relax after a day exploring the areas many attractions.

On your doorstep is St Merryn, which has everything you need for your holiday supplies. A well-stocked shop, bakery and surf shop sit around the crossroads, as well as several wine bars and pubs which all serve food all year round. The Cornish Arms, a pub owned by Rick Stein is a short stroll towards the church and is a great spot for cosying up next to the fire in the winter, or outdoor dining in the summer. The much-loved hotel group The Pig have opened their newest hotel and restaurant at Harlyn House, book ahead for the hotel restaurant or wander up to The Lobster Shed for fab seafood and cold ciders in the summer months. With Padstow five miles away, your options for eat in or take away food are endless!

 

For those beach days, try a dip in the Treyarnon tidal pool, go rock pooling at Boobies at low tide or head to Harlyn Bay for surf lessons on the gentle breakers. If that all sounds a bit too energetic, just curl up in a sand dune and watch the Atlantic surf roll in.

Inside Space

Come on in through the welcoming blue door and drop your bags in the bright hallway, before exploring the rest of the spacious and light filled ground floor. A warm and cosy lounge leads off one way, with plenty of sofa space for the whole family to chillout on together. Opposite is a large open plan kitchen dining room, with lots of extra seating so you can keep the cook company!! The main dining table is situated in the glazed sunroom, which leads out on to the enclosed patio and garden, ideal for summer BBQ’s or a run around with the dog.

 

Head upstairs to the first floor, where three bedrooms and a bathroom open off the main hallway. Offering a great family layout, this floor houses a large double room with ensuite, another double room and a twin room with a single bed and a cabin style bed, perfect for the younger members of the party. A modern family bathroom with shower over bath completes this floor. Through the remaining door you find a staircase which leads up to the primary suite, a spacious light-filled double room with a balcony giving views over the fields towards Trevose Head and the sea. Benefitting from light all day, this beautiful room has a sanctuary-like feel, a great space to find some calm amongst the wonderful chaos of a family holiday!

 

Outside Space

The enclosed rear garden has a patio area with a dining table and seating and an area laid to lawn, perfect for evening BBQ’s and family hangouts. Waterhouse is pet friendly and has a perfect outdoor space to pop the pet outside for a breath of fresh air!

 

Parking

Outside there is a private parking space for one car in front of the garage. Families with more than one car can find further places to park within a moment’s walk of the house.

 

Access

Waterhouse has level access to the front door and no steps or stairs on the ground floor, however there is a step over a ledge from the dining area to the patio and garden.

 

The property is set over three floors, each set of stairs has thirteen treads with a turn halfway, and both flights have handrails. The family bathroom and master bedroom both have showers over baths, and the double ensuite room has a separate shower.

Please note: This property has a balcony on the top floor. Please supervise children and pets at all times when the balcony is in use.

A refundable security deposit of £250 will be taken prior to your stay.

Central to a series of beautiful beaches on the north Cornish coast, St Merryn is at the heart of ‘seven bays for seven days’. Take your pick from Trevone Bay, Harlyn Bay, Treyarnon Bay, Constantine Bay, Porthcothan Bay, Mother Ivy’s Bay, Booby’s Bay and more, all within a couple of miles of the village.

 

 

The village has everything you need on your doorstep, including a well stocked village store, delicious bakery, pubs and bars, restaurants and take-aways, a petrol station and more. Try out Rick Stein’s take on pub food at The Cornish Arms, or for another superb dining experience there is The Pig within two miles.

 

Take to the water and get involved at Harlyn Surf School, where you can learn to surf, or try your hand at coasteering, kayaking or paddle boarding. For those seeking the opportunity to use one of England’s most prestigious golf courses, the award winning Trevose Golf Club is just a mile away. Or for a simple breath of fresh air, the South West Coast Path offers a breathtaking scenic hike along the rugged coastline.

 

 

Also just a ten minute drive away is Padstow, a picturesque harbour town with a number of superb restaurants, bars, boutique shops and galleries. This bustling town offers a vast variety of food options from Rick Stein’s famous Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred No.6, to fresh Cornish pasties and fish and chips on the harbour.
