Introduction

 

Polmark Beach Cottages is a select development of traditional houses with communal courtyard gardens, located within just a few hundred meters of the beach at Harlyn Bay. At the heart of the development is Polmark, a spacious and characterful cottage featuring glistening glimpses of the sea and an enclosed garden.

 

The accommodation includes a generous lounge with a cosy log burner perfect for those colder winter nights after a blustery beach walk. The adjoining kitchen and dining room offers a great social space for evenings dining at home, although eating out is far too easy when you have The Pig within walking distance! There are three bedrooms sleeping 6 people in total, each featuring a beautifully fitted en-suite.

 

A perfect spot to relax whilst listening to the sound of the waves breaking nearby. And if the noise of the water draws you in for a dip, it’s only a two minute walk to feel the sand at your feet.

Harlyn is a stunning Bay on the North Cornish coastline. The waves rolling into the bay offer the perfect opportunity of learning to surf, as well as providing ever changing scenery as you soak up the sun on the beach. Harlyn Surf School offers an action packed experience with not just surf lessons but kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering. Harlyn Bay also permits dogs on the beach all year round, so your furry friend can join you on your travels and not have to miss out!

 

Surrounded by other spots of beauty, Harlyn serves as an amazing base for exploring the North Cornish coastline and all its hidden gems along the South West Coast Path, with stunning walks via Trevone Bay to Padstow, or around the headland at Trevose.

 

 Also on your doorstep, within a 5 minute walk you will find The Pig Hotel & Restaurant which offers a superb dining experience. And St Merryn just a mile away includes Rick Stein’s pub The Cornish Arms, amongst other lovely spots to eat and drink.

 

The picturesque harbour town of Padstow is just two miles away. This bustling town offers a vast variety of food from Rick Stein’s fine dining restaurants to fresh homemade pasties. If you’re feeling adventurous you could catch a sea life safari from the harbour or enjoy scenic views of the estuary cycling to Wadebridge for lunch along the flat Camel Trail.

Accommodation

Inside Space

You are welcomed by a spacious entrance hall with a utility space including a washing machine and tumble drier. There is also a practical shower room to the side. A doorway leads through to the kitchen diner which is equipped with plenty of kitchenware and appliances, dining table and chairs overlooking the garden at the front with sea glimpses beyond. Through to the lounge, a comfortable room with peeps of blue sea again, patio doors to the garden and stairs up to the first floor.

 

Upstairs there are three spacious, bright and airy bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a wonderful view to the sea, the en-suite includes a bath with shower over. The second bedroom is also at the front looking out at the coastline, with twin beds and a modern shower room. The final room has a bunk bed and a third en-suite with bath and shower over.

 

Outside space

In addition to the communal courtyard areas, Polmark has a private garden with lawn and patio, adjacent to the living areas and ideal for outdoor dining, you can listen to the relaxing sounds of the coast whilst enjoying a family dinner and glass of fizz.

 

Parking

There is allocated parking for two vehicles within the grounds of the Polmark Beach Cottages development.

 

Access

With one parking space on tarmac and one on gravel, level but uneven access across the paved courtyard area to the main entrance of the house. One step into the entrance hall and the remaining ground floor accommodation is level. One full flight of stairs up to the first floor where accommodation is then level.

 

Refundable security deposit

A refundable security deposit of £250 will be taken prior to your stay.

Pets

Dogs are permitted with a small charge of £25 per pet.

Or for golfers, Harlyn is situated just two miles from the championship Trevose Golf & Country Club, a prestigious club offering three courses, suitable for golfers of all standards, with a breathtaking backdrop over the coast.

 

Perched on the edge of the sand you can grab a coffee or a bite to eat from the Beach Box Café, open all year round. Handy for a beach day, toilets are located just a short walk over the road. For a finer evening meal, nestled at the top of the hamlet, within a short walk is The Pig Hotel & Restaurant which offers a superb dining experience. And the village of St Merryn is just a mile away, including Rick Stein’s pub The Cornish Arms, amongst other lovely spots to eat and drink.

 

For further amenities, it’s a five minute drive to Padstow, a picturesque harbour town with a number of superb restaurants, bars, boutique shops and galleries. This bustling town offers a vast variety of food options from Rick Stein’s famous Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred No.6, to fresh Cornish pasties and fish and chips on the harbour.
